Hey gang…it’s time for another update about DRACULA: BOOK II—THE BRIDES! Here’s some important info along with a few more sneak peeks at Kelley Jones’s absolutely fantastic art from the book.
The Backerkit surveys have gone out to all of our patrons! As we’ve said before and if you’re new to Kickstarter campaign backing…filling out this extremely short survey is the only way that we can obtain access to your mailing address, which provides us with the necessary information to fulfill your orders from Orlok Press. If you’ve been with us from the campaign for BOOK I—THE IMPALER, or if you’re a Kickstarter veteran, you already know the importance of this step in the process. In either case, filling the surveys out in a timely manner helps insure that you’ll receive your books and merchandise as soon as possible once the material reaches our fulfillment service. Take the very few minutes necessary and fill out the survey as soon as you receive it!
If for some reason you haven’t received your survey, there are several things you can do to troubleshoot:
- Double-check the e-mail on file associated with Kickstarter - Often, users have old e-mails that are still tied to their accounts (Particularly if you authenticate through Facebook).
- To make sure that emails from your project creator don't get caught in your spam filter, add [email protected] to your address book. Avoid marking BackerKit e-mails as spam.
- Check your spam filters/archived e-mails. Subject lines to look for: Response Needed -- Get your reward for Project Name or Reminder -- Response needed to deliver your reward for Project Name
Apple ID Backers:
Backers who have pledged to the campaign using their AppleID but haven't completely set up their Apple Pay account (linking their email address to their Apple Wallet) will have issues receiving their emails from BackerKit.
Those backers have a @privaterelay.appleid.com email address and will need to contact the creator team or BackerKit Support to update their email address in BackerKit.
You can contact BackerKit Support by clicking the "need help" link from the Lost Survey page: https://www.backerkit.com/are_you_a_backer. When you write into Support, please provide your name and your Kickstarter pledge number, which can be found in your Kickstarter pledge confirmation email.
Please update your Apple Pay email as soon as possible to prevent this from happening again. You can learn more about hiding your email when signing in with Apple here.
Lastly, as is our tradition, we’d like to recommend another campaign here on Kickstarter for your consideration. This one seems like a particularly appropriate plug from us here at Orlok Press…seeing as how it features a vampire detective known as Orlok Holmes!

Greetings, all you children of the night!
We’re coming at you with an all-new update to say that DRACULA: BOOK II—THE BRIDES is in the final stages of production and will be headed out to the printers soon! You should be receiving your copies around the same time that you received BOOK I—late summer/early fall of 2025. The book looks absolutely amazing and Kelley and I can’t wait for you all to see and read it!
And, as a tantalizing hint of what’s in store…check out this incredibly beautiful 2-page spread of Castle Dracula in all of its decaying glory and under the cold light of a Carpathian moon! Stunningly rendered by our Maestro of the Macabre, Kelley Jones, and evocatively finished by our Color Conjurer, José Villarrubia! Believe me, this volume not only lives up to but, to my eye, surpasses the amazing art seen in BOOK I—THE IMPALER!
You will also soon be receiving your Backerkit surveys. As with BOOK I, we ask that you please take the (we promise) incredibly brief time to fill these out as soon as possible. Again, these surveys are the ONLY way we have access to your individual mailing addresses and thus enable us to fulfill your orders as a Backer.
Once we receive your information, we’ll also be able to quickly fulfill the various merch orders that were offered with this volume, the selection of T-shirts and the official Orlok Press hat!
And to keep the good news wagon rolling, Kelley has begun work on BOOK III! I completed the script for our next volume just before New Years 2024 and, I’ve gotta say in all honesty, this was most intensive thing I’ve ever written! We’ll reveal the title of BOOK III as well as more about its general concept as time goes on…but we are definitely right on track for this next volume in our ongoing series of graphic novels exploring the untold history of the world’s most famous literary character, DRACULA!
The KS campaign for BOOK III will launch in the same time frame as our other volumes, in our signature month of October…right on time for Halloween!
As always, Kelley and I want to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for you, our fabulous readers. As we’ve said many times before, this project is a true labor of love for both of us and we couldn’t be happier bringing you these dark tales of vampiric terror!
Lastly, as per usual, we love helping to promote other projects here on KS that we particularly like. We jumped the gun. BackerKit surveys have NOT gone out for Book II yet.
We're probably still a few months away from collecting your addresses, shirt sizes, and any other info we may need.
Even if you filled out your survey and gave us your address last time, you'll still need to fill out the new survey when it goes out.
We will also try to get Book I digital and print copies out as soon as we can.
Sorry for the confusion. Totally my snafu here...but, luckily, our ace team of managers and our fulfillment service are much better at this than Kelley and I!

Hey gang...this is just a brief update to point out that the Backerkit surveys for DRACULA: BOOK II--THE BRIDES have recently gone out to all backers.
PLEASE take the time--hopefully this weekend--to fill out these extremely quick surveys as they are our ONLY source for accessing your mailing addresses and making sure that we have those archive for when it comes time to fulfill your various pledge orders.
Again...this is the ONLY way we can receive your mailing address, so, again, please take the few minutes it takes to fill out the surveys.
And...the campaign for KOLCHAK MEETS THE CLASSIC MONSTERS is down to its final hours! This is an incredibly fun series that features the classic horror movie monsters but also that more modern classic character, the supernatural reporter/hunter, Carl Kolchak!

Hey gang…well, the campaign for DRACULA: BOOK II—THE BRIDES has officially ended and what a wild ride it has been! We ended up with a very successful funding effort and that couldn’t have happened without you—our readers.
Kelley and I want to extend out sincerest thanks to those of you who backed this latest volume in our ongoing series of graphic novels about the secret history of the Lord of the Undead, Dracula! As I’ve said on many previous occasions, this project is a true labor of love for both of us and to receive such enthusiastic response for our efforts is the most gratifying reward for which we could’ve hoped. Additionally, we’ve heard nearly unanimous feedback from many of you who absolutely loved BOOK I—THE IMPALER. Again, that just thrills us to (un)death!
As Dracula himself would say… “What sweet music you make!”
Moving forward, we’ll be bringing you regular updates about the production progress of this latest volume and you can all expect to receive your copies in a similar time frame to what we achieved with BOOK I…late-Autumn/early-September of 2025. Just in time for us to launch the campaign for BOOK III!
Again, Kelley and I are absolutely loving not only the experience of finally collaborating on something significant together but also the incredibly satisfying creative results! I’ll say it again…these are the books Kelley was born to draw! And, hey…I’m having a helluva good time writing them too!
