Hey gang…comin’ atcha with an all-new update and exclusive peek at some of the interior art for DRACULA: BOOK III—THE COUNT! Magnificently rendered by my in-fucking-credible collaborator, Kelley “I put the M in Macabre” Jones and atmospherically colored by José “Spectrum is my middle name” Villarubbia!
These gorgeous pages really show off the narrative difference established in this new volume of our epic saga as the setting shifts from the misty mountains of the Carpathian highlands to the fog enshrouded streets of Victorian London! Join Dracula as he explores his new home…and hunting grounds…in what is our most ambitious volume to date. In many ways, BOOK III—THE BRIDES is the storyline we’ve been aiming at from the very beginning of this suspense-filled and blood-drenched series.
Make sure to visit the prelaunch page for DRACULA: BOOK III—THE COUNT and sign up for immediate notification once the campaign goes live! We’ve got some incredibly special rewards lined up this time around and you’ll wanna be first in line to grab yours!
As always, Kelley and I want to thank every one of you who’ve so enthusiastically leant your support to this project, which means an incredibly great deal to both of us.
And, as per usual, we also want to in turn lend our support to another project here on KS...this one's from our Orlok Press collaborators, and my longtime publisher of GRENDEL, Dark Horse Comics. Annnd, what y'know...it's STAR WARS!
In 1997, from deep in the heart of Japan’s manga scene, mangaka Hisao Tamaki set out with an extraordinary goal: to capture the spirit of Star Wars: A New Hope — not just retelling the story, but reimagining the landmark motion picture through the lens of manga. The result was a bold, unforgettable adaptation that ultimately earned Tamaki the prestigious Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of Foreign Material. Now, nearly three decades later, Dark Horse Comics and Lucasfilm are proud to present a Kickstarter campaign for The Art of Star Wars: A New Hope—The Manga, a stunning, deluxe book that showcases Tamaki’s original never-before-seen art boards.
Okay, hold on to your crosses and garlic everyone…THE COUNT is coming soon!

OOPS! Our digital snafu

Hey gang...as most of you who backed the digital version of DRACULA: BOOK II--THE BRIDES now know, we had a big ol' snafu when we sent out those files.
We inadvertently sent out a review copy for Dark Horse Comics's upcoming TPB version of the book. As a result, each and every page bore a DH watermark...which was understandably frustrating for our buyers.
The only real explanation I can offer stems from my experiences of being in publishing for over forty years...shit happens. And it happens on all levels; creative, editorial, production and management. Hooo boy, I could offer a list of screwups over my long career that would make your head spin! For instance...
In one issue of my DC Comics series, BATMAN & THE MONSTER MEN, there was a scene where Batman is trapped and fighting a crew of the mutated giants. At one point, he gets one of his boots torn off annnnnd...in one panel, I drew it missing from the wrong foot! D'OH! Luckily, we could just digitally flip the panel and the problem was easily solved. But you see what I mean about...shit happens.
Anyway...when shit does happen, we here at Orlok Press try to not only own our screw-ups but also to make things right as quickly as possible.
To that end, all of our digital buyers should've now received their correct, clean-of-watermarks copy of the Orlok Press version of BOOK II--THE BRIDES.
Our sincere apologies come along with the proper version and, as always, our undying (undead) gratitude for your support of this project.
We're less than two weeks away from the launch for DRACULA: BOOK III--THE COUNT!! Kelley and I both hope you'll also be joining us for this latest sinister chapter or our blood-soaked epic!
And we promise to do our best to avoid any future fuck-ups.
Thanks, one and all...you Children of the Night!

The campaign for BOOK III—THE COUNT launches October 1…just in time for the spooky Halloween season! Hey gang!
This is the update we've all been waiting for...all copies of DRACULA: BOOK II--THE BRIDES have arrived from the printer to our local warehouse!!
And they look absolutely great!
Kelley and I both are, once again, so very proud of this series and BOOK II is no exception! This sinister tale of the infamous vampire lord and his three fiendish consorts is bigger (30 pages longer than BOOK I!), badder and bloodier in every way.
The books are being shipped to our fulfillment service where they will be processed and sent out for your eager reception! You should start seeing your books show up within a month.
Thanks, once again, to each and every one of you who continue to support this series of graphic novels! Kelley and I couldn't be more honored by your interest in and readership of what is...I'll say it again...a true labor of love for both of us.
Annnnnd...the campaign for DRACULA: BOOK III--THE COUNT is right around the corner!!
If you haven't already done so, please drop by the prelaunch page and sign up to be notified as soon as the campaign goes live.
As incredible as the first two books have turned out to be, I'm not exaggerating when I say that Kelley's work on BOOK III is among the best of his entire career! There's a level of focus and engagement in his remarkable art that blows me away every time new pages arrive in my Inbox! BOOK III is one of the most intense things I've ever written and Kelley translates that energy onto the page with such vigorous drama and style...trust me, you'll be amazed!
So...until BOOK III launches, we both hope you enjoy getting to know the three lovely and deadly ladies from the House of DRACULA!
Meanwhile, here's some more news about a project we teased in the last update.
Bram Stoker Award-winning editor and writer James Aquilone’s Monstrous Books has celebrated the traditions of pulp fiction and classic movie monsters with MONSTROUS MAGAZINE, an acclaimed black-and-white magazine-format comic book anthology which features some of the most interesting and inventive genre writers being published today. Now MONSTROUS MAGAZINE will look east for the inspiration for its next all-star anthology: MONSTROUS: THE KAIJU ISSUE will celebrate the legendary monsters from Japan, just in time for the ongoing global celebration of Godzilla’s 70th anniversary. The pre-launch page for MONSTROUS: THE KAIJU ISSUE is now live and readers can click on it to get an email when the crowdfunding project launches.
MONSTROUS: THE KAIJU ISSUE features a fantastic line-up including:

Previous issues of MONSTROUS MAGAZINE, feature a mix of comics, prose stories, and articles. The debut issue includes:
A collectible cover by Colton Worley (Kolchak: The Night Stalker 50th Anniversary Graphic Novel, The Shadow)
